“Dr Charles S Carver, a distinguished professor of psychology at the University of Miami, likens this to a child contracting chicken pox – it is through the illness that resistance is built., I explore this notion and propose that we can use what we learn through adversity in order to grow even stronger. The key focus here is ‘springing forward’ rather than ‘bouncing back’.
