Police Scotland has secured convictions against eight individuals involved in drug trafficking and cultivation operations in the Scottish Borders. Eight individuals have been sentenced to a combined total of nearly 13 years in prison following a series of Police Scotland raids that resulted in the recovery of drugs valued at over £2.5 million. These criminals, collectively serving 12 years and eight months, were apprehended and brought to justice through operations conducted in the Scottish Borders region. Police Scotland announced that the most recent of the eight individuals was sentenced earlier today at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
A 38-year-old man received a two-year prison term after being found guilty of offenses related to the supply of controlled drugs. Two 22-year-old men were also sentenced to one year and eight months in prison following the discovery of cannabis cultivation sites worth over £300,000 in Hawick and Jedburgh. Last month, five men were jailed for a combined total of over nine years for their roles in cannabis cultivation operations valued at almost £2.5 million in Galashiels.Detectives within the Scottish Borders region emphasize their unwavering commitment to disrupting the activities of those engaged in serious criminal enterprises, regardless of whether they operate locally within the Lothians and Scottish Borders, or across the UK and internationally.
