Eight men are on trial accused of sexual offences allegedly committed against two teenage girls in Rochdale between 2001 and 2006. The prosecution alleges the girls were 'passed around' for sex and treated as 'sex slaves'.
Two teenage girls were treated as ‘sex slaves’ for years by ‘predators’ who raped and sexually abused them, a jury has been told. Eight men are on trial accused of sexual offences allegedly committed against the two girls - 'Girl A' and 'Girl B' - between 2001 and 2006 in Rochdale .
Opening the case for the prosecution, Rossano Scamardella KC told the jury: “The men in the dock are responsible for the rape and sexual exploitation of two girls. The abuse of and began when each of them was just 13-years-old and they both suffered at the hands of these men for a little over three years.
He added: “The defendants were only too aware of their tender ages and the difficulties they experienced with day-to-day life. It was obvious that they craved the attention that their home lives and families did not provide, which made them easy prey for these older men to exploit. “But that was to quickly change, and drastically so. The girls were expected to have sex with these men and others, whenever and wherever the men wanted. They were often forced to have oral sex and vaginal sex with multiple men on the same day, in filthy flats and on rancid mattresses. On other occasions they would be required to have sex in cars, car parks, alleyways or disused warehouses. Wherever and whenever these men wanted it.
Jurors were told he is the only defendant accused of abusing both girls. “He was at the centre of what happened to each of them,” Mr Scamardella claimed. The prosecutor said he was known as ‘boss man’ or ‘boss’.
