At the full-time whistle, with the home fans in a jubilant mood, Marmoush was invited onto the pitch to join in the celebrations. This soon turned into a farewell as the forward was pushed in front of the fans to accept their ovation. Before the fixture with Dortmund, Frankfurt's manager Dino Toppmoller insisted that Marmoush would be playing. However, shortly before kick-off on Friday the Bundesliga club U-turned on this decision admitting in a statement: 'Eintracht Frankfurt is currently in talks with another club regarding a transfer of Omar Marmoush. Therefore, the player is not part of the squad today.' This unnamed club is thought to be City and the deal looks now to be on the verge of completion
