Former Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga has explained his decision to join Nottingham Forest this summer as he looks to prove a point in the Premier League

The 21-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough campaign for United under interim boss Ralf Rangnick during the 2021/22 season but found his opportunities increasingly limited under new manager Erik ten Hag. United accepted a £15million offer for Elanga, who moved to the City Ground earlier this month.

"It's an historical club in itself and the coach, the staff here and the players they have - young, hungry and ambitious players wanting to win, wanting to get better, wanting to elevate their own game. While Forest boss Cooper was quick to try and temper expectations after Elanga’s explosive start, the winger is confident that he can help fire the club up the table. The 21-year-old is keen to bring what he learned at United to the East Midlands, including what he gleaned from keeping a close eye on former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in training.
