Elbow frontman Guy Garvey hailed the 'beautiful' Co-op Live arena last night as he quipped about the crisis-ridden venue's previous problems with hanging wires.
'There was already electricity in the air before you lot got in here and now it's fully amped up. I hope you can feel it,' he said last night, after support act The Waeve performed. The band boosted fans confidence that the night will go ahead as planned after posting a photo of their stage set up in the arena saying 'ready'.
This comes after the arena, which boasts being the largest in the UK, was forced to postpone opening shows three times because of concerning structural issues with the building, including parts from the ventilation falling from the ceiling.
