is becoming reabsorbed in a fever dream, a land of nightmares and heroes grotesquely twisted into villains, mixed with silliness and absurdity like a giant shooting you with the arrow the size of a tree trunk, blowing you off a cliff.
You head to the Shadow Realm through the egg behind a hopefully dead Mohg, and you’ll find a place that does not look all that dissimilar from where you just came from. But it gets weirder and weirder the more you explore, and ends up holding some of the most interesting, harrowing locations of the game so far.
This is a bit confusing because these bonuses do not work outside the Shadow Realm, but I was a little unsure as to how normal leveling benefitted me or didn’t from here. I assume this system is in place to prevent one-shotting, level 400 Super Tarnished from blowing through the DLC, but in the end it worked fine for me from a difficulty curve perspective.
