The Trust has sent its condolences to the woman's family
An elderly woman has "died on a trolley" while waiting to be admitted into an Emergency Department in Belfast at the weekend.
In a statement, the trust said: "Belfast Trust would like to send our condolences to this patient’s family, our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. The Northern Health & Social Care Trust said the decision to close the ED was regrettable but it was the only safe response under the circumstances.
