The Biden campaign is stepping up its outreach to Democrats on Capitol Hill upon their return to Washington on Monday. In a memo sent to Democratic offices late Sunday and obtained by The Washington Post, the Biden-Harris campaign outlined 15 public and private events that Biden has taken part in since his June 27 debate with Donald Trump. The memo touted remarks by Capitol Hill Democrats defending Biden and recapped how grass-roots support continues for the president.
Chris Coons and Reps. Nancy Pelosi and James E. Clyburn . Democrats are returning to Capitol Hill for an extended period since Biden’s disastrous debate performance. House and Senate Democrats are expected to discuss whether to continue supporting Biden’s candidacy or ask for him to drop out as the party’s candidate ahead of the Democratic National Convention next month.
