All but one party gives full support to Ukraine in its bid to resist Russia’s invasion The Tories promise to recruit 8,000 more full-time police officers to ensure an extra officer for every neighbourhood and to cut antisocial behaviour in town centres by rolling out “hot spot policing” and evicting social tenants who repeatedly disturb their neighbours.Labour would dedicate 13,000 police officers and community support officers, including 3,000 new officers, to tackling neighbourhood crime.
Insisting he is not an “apologist or supporter of Putin”, Nigel Farage has claimed that the West provoked Russia’s assault on Ukraine and called for peace talks to end the “stalemate” in the conflict. He has argued that the West’s sanctions had driven Moscow “into the arms of China”.The party, which warns of “the rise of authoritarian regimes” around the world, backs continued support for Ukraine as it tries to resist the Russian invasion.
