Another House Democrat is calling on President Biden to step aside from the presidential race, even as Biden’s campaign doubled down Friday morning on its insistence that he would remain at the top of the ticket. In an op-ed for the Chicago Tribune Friday, Rep. Sean Casten said there was “tremendous fear about this moment” in conversations he has had with his constituents.
” On the other hand, Casten wrote, Donald Trump is “a twice-impeached convicted felon and adjudicated rapist who has promised to be a ‘dictator on day one.’” “But politics, like life, isn’t fair. And as long as this election is instead litigated over which candidate is more likely to be held accountable for public gaffes and ‘senior moments,’ I believe that Biden is not only going to lose but is also uniquely incapable of shifting that conversation,” Casten wrote.
