Kelly Clark hopes it’s the boot up the backside the Hoops need ahead of Monday's SWPL title showdown with Rangers

Celtic skipper Kelly Clark insists Elena Sadiku was well within her rights to give the players pelters after last weekend’s Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Rangers.

“Elena could have said last weekend that we were unlucky to lose and we would all have known that she was talking rubbish. We knew ourselves that we weren’t good enough and there was nothing that she said publicly that wasn’t discussed in the changing room after the game.” Celtic have a superior goal difference of 13 with four games to go. And Clark insists the midweek draw changed nothing about their preparations. "We have four massive games to go,” said Clark. “It is about having the same approach to all of them. I know people will be looking at it and saying that this is the decider but I wouldn’t be surprised if that isn’t how it plays out. It might sound boring but it is a game at a time. You look too far ahead and you will stumble.

Celtic have the chance to extend their lead against St MirrenWith Rangers' game-in-hand against Dundee postponed yet again this midweek, Celtic have the chance to go four points clear of their arch-Glasgow rivals on Saturday. Brendan Rodgers' side play first this weekend, with the title race continuing to heat up as we approach the post-split excitement. So, having drawn 3-3 at Ibrox last time out, the packed-out crowd at Celtic Park is sure to get right behind the players as they look to make home advantage count against fellow top-six side St Mirren. Stephen Robinson's men secured their top-six status last weekend, but are currently five points behind Kilmarnock who sit in fourth place - which is guaranteed European football this summer. No, unfortunately, this game has not been selected for live television by broadcasters Sky Sports.
