The footage, which was shared on Twitter yesterday, shows the car stuck sideways on the lorry’s front grill and bumper, on one of the busiest dual carriageways in London.
Ellie was driving along in her Range Rover , alongside the scary collision, and has revealed her chauffeur Guy was attempting to get the trucker's attention, alongside all the other cars which were beeping - the lorry driver was presumably so high up that he couldn't see that he was effectively dragging the other car.
Videos of the incident were all over the internet, but it wasn’t clear that the Ellie was the woman in the clip, but she revealed herself after she was sent the story which originally appeared on the. ‘Was just sent this,’ she wrote on her Instagram story, sharing a screenshot of the article. ‘I’m the one in the car checking if this guy is ok - craziest thing I’ve ever seen on the road. Everyone was just driving past but my driver Guy stopped.
To make the whole incident even weirder, radio DJ Greg James shared the clip yesterday - before he realised that his ex-girlfriend Ellie came to the rescue. After sharing the original video, he wrote, 'To make this EVEN madder, I didn’t realise @elliegouldingwas one of the people who stopped to help this guy. WTF!'
A police spokesperson said, 'There were no reported injuries. Officers spoke with both parties. No arrests were made.' Whereas a Royal Mail spokesman commented, 'We are very concerned about this incident. We sincerely hope that no one was hurt. We are investigating as a matter of urgency.'
