Inspired by David McKee’s beloved children’s book character, each one will be uniquely decorated
The seaside town is set to welcome 30 Elmer the Patchwork Elephants as part of a fun event from Wild in Art. These colourful sculptures are inspired by David McKee's popular children's book character, and each one will be uniquely decorated.
Businesses and organisations have sponsored these sculptures, which will be placed around key landmarks, streets, and open spaces across Blackpool. Visitors are encouraged to visit as many as possible. A sculpture called "Elmer Elaganza", created by TV presenter and interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, was recently revealed as part of an arts trail. Llewelyn-Bowen is known for being the creative curator of the Blackpool Illuminations.
"It was wonderful to welcome him into Brian House and show him the difference our art trail will make to local families, helping us to provide exceptional care to local children who are living with incredibly complex illnesses."
