The former first minister had threatened legal action against the tech billionaire after Musk said Yousaf was “super, super racist” and 'loathes white people'.
Elon Musk has stepped up a war of words with Humza Yousaf by threatening to reveal the former SNP leader's private messages.
In a second post Musk said: “Legal discovery will show that however big a racist he’s been in public communications, he is vastly worse in private communications.”The pair have clashed several times since Musk branded the then first minister a "blatant racist" over a 2020 speech in which he pointed out that all senior positions in Scotland are held by white people.
Yousaf was speaking about Musk's comments on the riots in England and Northern Ireland. He had said "civil war is inevitable" and much of the misinformation which sparked the riots was spread on X, formerly Twitter. Yousaf replied: "The latest nonsense from Musk is a further example of his propensity for spouting white supremacist, far-right conspiracies - and only confirms my point that he is one of the world's most dangerous men.
Yousaf's lawyer, Aamer Anwar said: “Anybody who goes on social media, even if they own the platform and thinks that free speech is absolute whether in the UK or USA, needs to think again. Free speech carries responsibility and if you break the law there are consequences, as we have seen in recent days.
