A significant emergency response was dispatched to Embleton Walk in Manchester on Wednesday evening following reports of smoke emanating from a residential property. Fire crews, police, and paramedics arrived at the scene, where they reportedly forced entry into the house. Witnesses described seeing smoke billowing from the windows and doors, and hearing a persistent alarm. Two individuals were subsequently rescued from the property and treated by paramedics at the scene. While the cause of the incident remains unconfirmed, it is believed that there was no major fire.

A house was taped off with a huge emergency response sent to a residential street following an incident near Gorton on Wednesday evening (January 22). Fire crews, police and paramedics were called to the scene on Embleton Walk, in Manchester , at around 7.30pm. Emergency crews attended following reports of smoke at a property and reportedly had to smash the door down to gain entry.

Witnesses said the house was taped off following the incident and that smoke was seen 'coming from the windows and doors'. One resident said: 'We could hear the alarm going off for ages, so we rang 999. 'The lights were going on and off and then the smoke just got worse and worse. The fire service couldn't get in and had to bust the door down. 'Then more ambulances started arriving. The smoke was coming out of the doors and the windows, we could smell how bad it was. 'Once they got into the house, the street was full of smoke. It looked like it was coming from the back of the house.' Two people were later rescued from the property to be treated at the scene by paramedics. Details about the cause of the incident have not been confirmed, but it is understood there was no major fire. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At just after half 7 this evening (Wednesday 22 January), fire crews were called to reports of signs of smoke at a domestic property on Embleton Walk in Manchester. “Three fire engines from Gorton and Ashton quickly attended the scene. Crews are working with colleagues from Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service and remain in attendance. 'Two casualties were removed from the property and were being treated at the scene by North West Ambulance Service paramedics.
