Amanda Richmond Rogers was celebrating her 18th wedding anniversary with her husband, Dr. Brian Rogers, when the couple went into the north fork of the Eagle River to try to save their dog who had fallen through the ice.

“She would take dad, her sons and her dogs over anything in the world, her identity, I don’t care, anything,” Amanda’s son, Bodhi Rogers, 10, said.
