Police, fire crews and paramedics descended on Wilmslow Road on Sunday night (May 26)
Emergency services blocked a main road in Cheadle on Sunday night amid a water rescue mission. Police, fire crews and paramedics were called to Wilmslow Road following reports of a man in difficulty in the nearby Micker Brook.
A scene was also in place on nearby Broadway Avenue before a man was rescued from the water using specialist equipment. Pictures from the scene on Sunday night show a number of police cars, ambulances and fire engines in attendance, with Wilmslow Road closed off in both directions for over an hour. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Just before 8pm this evening firefighters were called to reports of a person in need of rescue on Broadway Avenue, Cheadle.
