Plumes of black smoke could be seen billowing up into the sky. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they quickly sent two appliances to the scene. The extent of the damage is so far unclear as fire crews continue to battle the blaze. Worried locals took to social media to raise the alarm.Another said: "It's a woman's house just along the road from me. Such a shame."A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were alerted to reports of a house on fire on Johnston Park in Cowdenbeath at around 8.33pm on Wednesday, December 21.
