Services to Manchester were among those cancelled as police and paramedics attended the incident
A person was hit by a train near Warrington on Sunday evening with a number of services cancelled. Emergency services attended the incident on the line between Liverpool South Parkway and Warrington Central.
It said that all services running between the two stations would be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or suspended. All stations between Liverpool Lime Street and Warrington Central were out of bounds due to the incident. National Rail later confirmed on their live updates that emergency services were responding to a person being hit by a train. Their condition is not yet known, but British Transport Police have been approached for information.
