Police, paramedics and mountain rescue teams were scrambled to Rivington after a 64-year-old man with a 'medical condition' went missing.
They were tasked with searching for the man who had become separated from an organised walking group in the area. There was growing concern for the welfare of the missing man who was reportedly 'suffering from a medical condition'.The man was later located near to Lead Mine Clough after suffering a fall earlier in the day. He had mild hypothermia and was taken to hospital for treatment.
"He had become separated from an organised walking group an hour previously and had not returned. 23 team members attended.
