Burglars made off with a 'quantity of alcohol' and the fire service attended 'to help with a search of the roof'
Local residents reported on social media seeing the Morrisons car park 'full of fire brigade' in the early hours of this morning . Lancashire Constabulary confirmed they were called to reports of a burglary at the Henrietta Street store at 11.30pm last night.
The offenders made off with a 'quantity of alcohol' and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene 'to help with a search of the roof'. No arrests have been made and an investigation is under way.Residents shared their concerns on local Facebook groups. One person asked: "What's happening at Morrisons, car park full of fire brigade?" The force is appealing for anyone with information to get in contact.
A spokesperson told LancsLive: "We were called around 11.30pm yesterday to a report of a burglary at Morrisons in Henrietta Street, Bacup. A quantity of alcohol was stolen during the incident. "No arrests have been made. Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting log 1448 of October 11."
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were called at 12.37am today to assist the police. Morrisons has been contacted by LancsLive for comment.
