A59 Liverpool Road blocked by police after serious crash near Penwortham
A huge emergency service response is present on the A59 Liverpool Road just outside Penwortham after a major crash involving at least two cars. Police, fire engines and ambulance services can be seen at the scene since the crash at around 1pm.
Two cars can be seen at the centre of the emergency service response. A Mercedes car can be seen crashed into hedges at the side of Liverpool Road while another black car can be seen severely damaged in the road.Four police cars, two fire engines, two ambulances, two fast response cars and air ambulance have been seen by a LancsLive reporter at the scene. Rows of traffic are reportedly tailing back on Liverpool Road.
The traffic collision has been confirmed to have taken place at the Liverpool Road junction with Lindle Lane. A spokesperson from Lancashire Police have said: "We are currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision on Liverpool road Junction with Lindle Lane, Hutton.CONTINUE READINGTraffic monitoring website Inrix reports: "A59 Liverpool Road in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident from John Horrocks Way to Lindle Lane.
