Having witnessed previous"megatrends," I have seen the enormous impact of the arrival of the web in the 1990s and, later, the mobile and cloud computing revolutions. To date, I have never seen a technology that can have as dramatic a business impact as generative AI .
Throughout our building experience, my team learned that effective GenAI approaches require careful consideration. We had to build our infrastructure so the applications could scale and infrastructure could be provided to the organization as services or interfaces. In addition, we learned that the solutions we build are only as good as the data we use to fuel our AI models.
Once we shifted to a composable framework, we then took our experimentation further. To achieve our goal of implementing GenAI for customer service, we knew we needed to build technology foundations that could scale quickly. We thus assembled an"AI foundations" team that built several plug-and-play modules leveraging our applications and private GPTs and exposed them as APIs to test new ideas.
Consider the analogy of an avid reader. Once the reader has finished a book, they become knowledgeable of the book's contents. However, if the book is wrong or conflicts with another book the reader has read, it becomes a challenge for the reader to know what the truth is.
