In tonight's installment, Ruby remained estranged from her family after Caleb discovered a paternity test revealing he wasn't Beth's father. Previously, fans had guessed that Ruby 's father, Anthony , was also Steph 's biological father due to his past sexual abuse of Ruby as a teenager.
This secret remained unknown to the rest of the village, leading to Steph confronting Ruby and declaring she didn't need her in her life. Ruby returned to sleep at the B&B only to be met by Anthony, who watched her as she slept. Upon waking, Ruby fled from him, ultimately confronting him about his actions while he denied the accusations. She accused him of rape, stating she now had proof. Ruby revealed to Anthony that he was Steph's father, shocking him before he stormed out. Ruby told him she wouldn't expose him because she didn't want Steph to know. Meanwhile, Cain urged Caleb to reconcile with Ruby, while Chas confided in him that Ruby had previously approached her with her doubts.
