Emmerdale enthusiasts were gobsmacked when a vintage snapshot of Jeff Hordley featuring in Coronation Street popped up online. The actor, famed for his portrayal of Cain Dingle on ITV 's Emmerdale since 2000, had two stints on the cobbles before he made his mark as a mainstay in the village first playing a nightclub manager in May 1997 and later as Wayne in November 1998.
Donning a chic grey turtleneck and matching jacket, the image captures a youthful Hordley alongside Johnny Briggss character, Mike Baldwin, within the nightclub's setting. Another confessed to having no memory of Hordley on Coronation Street despite being a regular viewer back then, meanwhile other fans mused on how little Jeff seems to have aged. Another brought up more of Hordley's history stating: "Cain Dingle from Emmerdale. I believe this was around in mid or late 1990s before he went to Emmerdale and also he was a music teacher too.", reports the Manchester Evening News.
Cain has been central to many significant storylines over the years, especially given the Dingles' propensity for being at the centre of village drama. His story arcs have included discovering that his 'uncle' Zak is actually his father, learning he is Debbie's father, his relationship with cousin Charity Dingle, and being attacked in a mystery plot twist.
