Kelvin, who played Andy Sugden on the Dales for two decades, moved into a 120-acre family home with his wife Liz where they are responsible for 100 sheep, 30 pigs and 10 horses.
Former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher, known for his role as Andy Sugden on the popular ITV soap, has opened up on the "accident" that led him to saying goodbye to the Dales for good as he now leads his life as a sheep farmer.
The pair had been looking to move to Los Angeles in a bid to take their acting careers to the US however the Covid pandemic hit across the nation and changed the course of their plans as they stumbled across a for sale sign. Liz told the Mirror: "It was Kelvin’s idea. We had two children, no real responsibilities, they weren’t at school, we had no jobs… then all visas got stopped, but we were in the mindset for change. Kelvin saw this farm on Rightmove and said, 'Liz, what about buying this?'"
