Emmerdale fans were astonished to learn that Karen Blick, known for her portrayal of Lydia Dingle, had a previous one-off role on the soap where she looked unrecognisable. Karen became a household name after joining the ITV soap in 2016 as Lydia, now married to Sam Dingle and beloved by viewers, reports YorkshireLive.
The cherished cleaner has been integral to many intense plots, including a recent traumatic rape storyline. Romantic ties have seen Lydia involved with Paddy Kirk and Rishi Sharma , before finding her home within the Dingle family. Before she graced Emmerdale as Lydia, Karen appeared on shows like No Angels and Nomads. Remarkably, in 2006, she featured in Emmerdale as an anonymous nurse at an abortion clinic Viv Hope visited, sporting blonde hair which contrasted sharply with her now-iconic red style complete with a fringe.Dedicated fans recently resurfaced a still of Karen from her original appearance on an Emmerdale Facebook fan group, causing quite the stir among the soap's followers.
The soap star also didn't rule out a future change, saying she's open to new chances: "Part of me would love to. If the opportunities arose and the timing was right, never say never."
