Emmerdale actress Natalie Robb - who plays Moira Dingle - has opened up about her character's intense current storyline involving a brain tumour. The 49 year old actress, who joined the soap in 2009, is set to face one of her most challenging plots yet, with Moira undergoing surgery to remove the tumour in upcoming episodes.
She also touched on the impact of the storyline, revealing her surprise at the number of people affected by similar conditions in real life and the positive feedback she's received, reports the Express. She concluded by expressing how honoured she felt to raise awareness and connect with viewers, adding: "It was a privilege, I was honoured to get that responsibility."
Natalie further explained the importance of authenticity in portraying health issues on screen: "When they sometimes do things for dramatic effect, that's fine. But when it's a real life health issue then we do really have to get that right because people can get rather upset if it's not portrayed correctly."
