TV royalty Sharon Maughan has joined Emmerdale as Ruby's mum Helen
As Emmerdale fans know, Caleb has had a mysterious rendezvous and it is revealed to be partner Ruby’s ill mother Helen who he has met. Caleb has been seen to be steely when Helen admits that she regrets the distance between herself and her daughter and that she’s now divorced from Ruby’s father.
Sharon also starred in a number of popular television series and movies dating back to the 1970s. Most notably, Sharon portrayed Kate in The Enigma Files, Anna in By the Sword Divided and Tricia Williams in Holby City. She has also had stints in Inspector Morse, Cinderella, Heartbeat, Casualty, Waking the Dead, and Rain Stops Play.
