Belle faces another unsavoury turn of events Belle Dingle has yet to experience the happily wedded bliss she was expecting after marrying Tom King in Emmerdale, thanks to his cruel, abusive behaviour. Since they began dating, Tom has exhibited worrying behaviour, which has only got worse since their marriage. In the short time since saying their vows, Tom has continued to gaslight, undermine and humiliate Belle in upsetting scenes.
Emma Pickering, Head of Technology-Facilitated Abuse and Economic Empowerment at Refuge, said: ‘Refuge is pleased to have had the opportunity to work with the writers and producers of Emmerdale, to develop the storyline between Tom and Belle and show viewers the sad realities of domestic abuse.
