Previously, the couple had visited Rhona and asked if they could use her frozen embryos so they could become parents. Rhona said no, so Gus committed fraud and stole the embryos behind her back. Lucy died shortly after giving birth to a baby girl called Ivy. It then left Rhona in a complete legal and ethical mess.
