Emmerdale star Daisy Campbell has admitted to feeling 'hurt' after she was axed from the long-running ITV soap. The 21-year-old rose to fame playing the role of Amelia Spencer in Emmerdale at just seven years old. But this year, her career came to an unexpected halt as producers decided to write her out of the programme. Despite her character being involved in Belle and Tom King's storyline, which has kept the nation hooked, Amelia will be leaving the Dales tonight (December 20).
Talking to stand-in presenter Ranvir Singh on ITV's Lorraine, Amelia opened up on how it felt to leave the drama. She said: 'Yeah, I definitely felt hurt, taken aback, really. Just shocked, like I couldn't stop shaking! 'But you know, time's passed, I got on with the storyline, put everything in that I could because it was my last.' Sharing more insight, the star also said: 'It's been a difficult year; I think I've always taken pride in this job. Obviously, it's not just been my home but it's where I've learnt my craft and it's something I'm going to take on with me what I've learnt into other jobs. 'So it was at the beginning of the year, I didn't see it coming. It's been a really tough year but I've done loads of work on myself and put myself first. 'But I definitely feel like I'm finally in a place where I've healed,' she revealed. Despite having a tough time this year, Daisy revealed that things are finally looking up. While talking to Ranvir, the actress talked about her latest projects. Talking candidly Daisy expressed that she did not expect to be booked and busy so soon after her exit. She said: 'So I didn't expect to work till next year because I've left so close to Christmas, I've never done anything else, I'm new to the industry basically outside of soap but I'm excited to have filmed something a couple of weeks ago.' Daisy also revealed that she will be announcing another project this week. Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV1
