Chase played the villainous Tom King, who subjected Belle Dingle (played by Taylor-Draper) to a harrowing campaign of abuse on the show. The reunion comes after Chase's character was finally brought to justice, serving a three-year prison sentence for assault and coercive control.
Emmerdale star Eden Taylor-Draper shared a photo of her reunion with former villain Tom King as they attended the Broadcast Awards 2025 on Wednesday night. James Chase joined Emmerdale as Tom in 2023, where his character embarked on a relationship with Belle Dingle . Although the couple initially appeared happy, their marriage quickly soured. Tom launched a vicious campaign of abuse against Belle, isolating her and manipulating her at every opportunity.
His actions escalated to physical violence on several occasions. In one chilling scene, he scalded Belle's arm with boiling water after discovering she was taking birth control. On another occasion, Tom broke into Belle's home after being told by his new love interest, Amelia, that Belle had reported him to the police for installing hidden cameras. He attacked Belle before she managed to escape with a hunting rifle, with Tom in hot pursuit wielding an axe. As she hid, Tom hacked down the door. Belle attempted to shoot him, but the safety lock was engaged, which Tom promptly removed, holding the gun to her head. In a moment of panic, she struck him in the back with the axe, causing him to fall to the floor.In December, Belle finally received justice as the villainous Tom was sentenced to three years in prison for assault and coercive control. Fast forward to Wednesday night, and Eden shared a photo of the former co-stars at the Broadcast Awards. Both dressed to impress for the event, Eden captioned the photo 'team emmerdale'. James also posted a picture of the pair on his Instagram story, writing 'Your new Bond. Sorry Aaron' as they enjoyed a glass of wine, referencing the rumors surrounding Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the next James Bond star. Other Emmerdale stars flocked to the comments section, with Laura Norton (Kerry) jokingly remarking: 'And Jim scrubs up'. James responded to the comment, saying: 'was waiting for that ;) hahaha cheers love' and then admitted: 'Missing you guys'. It wasn't long before other cast members chimed in, with Daisy Campbell (Amelia) writing: 'Beautiful!' and Karen Blick (Lydia) adding: 'You both look fabulous'. Following his exit from the show, James previously shared: 'I always knew to some extent he was going to lose, because we had always had that conversation. Months ago, the producers and I spoke and I agreed with them that Tom had to get his comeuppance.' He added: 'It was really important that Belle got justice, because Tom has just done so many things to her. Not only was it important for Belle but it was important for the viewers to see that it can happen. Obviously, there are so many people affected by this kind of thing. 'Unfortunately, I believe it's all too rare in real life for the victim to get through the system and get the justice they deserve. So I think it was nice to see and hopefully give hope that it can happen.'
