Lee Standen was part of a gang dubbed the ‘most organised outfit around’
who used a former Methodist church as part of their £7m operation. The nine men bought and sold huge amounts of cocaine and flooded streets across the country with the Class A drug.
These men had a leading role in the gang, with the others acting as their yes men, couriering drugs and money upon request. Sam Causer went by the handle ‘rubberstem’, Nathan Hart used the handle ‘roadtender’ and Ian Ormshaw went by the name of ‘icypirate’ and then ‘hippoyoghurt’. Police uncovered messages which detailed the gang's entire operation, showing the lengths they went to conceal their criminal fund. The messages also showed their methods of breaking down the drugs to maximise profits, mixing the drugs with any household products they could find.
Lee Standen, 42, of Liverpool Rd, Hindley was jailed for 19 years on Thursday, November 9. He was found guilty of conspiracy to supply cocaine.
