Councillor Rob Parker steps down after 35 years of dedicated service to Lincoln
Councillors and colleagues have paid tribute to long-standing Lincoln Labour councillor Rob Parker, who confirmed his departure from politics last night.
The Lincoln Labour Party announced the news about Councillor Parker, who has represented the Carholme division for over 35 years,"with great sadness" on Twitter. "In the years since, he has effectively opposed the Conservatives as the leader of the Opposition. In that role he has held the ruling Tory group to account, highlighting their cruel and divisive policies and offering ambitious, compassionate and costed alternative budgets.
"Throughout my years as a Carholme City Councillor and more recently on the County council, he’s given me so much friendship and support. Much love to him and to Sue," she added.
