🔴 Grant Shapps has demanded that energy firms explain how they will make amends with customers who have had prepayment meters wrongly installed in their homes
Last week, Mr Shapps met British Gas CEO Chris O’Shea and expressed his “horror” at the practice of installing prepayment meters by force on vulnerable customers.
“Thousands more families have had warrants issued for the forced installation of prepayment meters since Grant Shapps refused to act weeks ago. “Only Labour can fix our broken energy system- ending the prepayment meter scandal, stopping bills going up this April with a proper windfall tax and taking the long term action we need to make Britain a clean energy superpower.”It has also issued a legal order for the energy company to cease all warrant activities until they can demonstrate compliance with our standards and requirements.
