England cricket legend Ben Stokes meets the England football team ahead of Euro 2024 as Gareth Southgate looks to motivate his Three Lions squad
Ben Stokes has aimed a barb at Australia n broadcaster Fox Cricket by claiming he lives 'rent-free' in their minds.Despite being in a strong position midway through the fourth Test in Manchester last summer, England were denied the chance to level up the Ashes at 2-2 as rain stopped play.
“Everything we’ve done up until now isn’t going to stop because we haven’t managed to win the urn back,” Stokes is heard saying. “But what we have done is something a lot bigger than any Ashes trophy could ever signify for this team – be the team that everybody will always remember.” Below the quote, they added a statistic stating: "England captain Ben Stokes on his team, which has won 4 of 11 tests since the start of 2023, via ECB."They then captioned the post: "...right, yeah, sure", apparently mocking Stokes' otherwise-inspiring words.
