This summer, Nikita Parris, Rachel Daly and their fellow Lionesses will inspire thousands of young girls in this country and beyond as they represent England in the Women’s 2022 Euros – the biggest women’s sporting event in European history. With close to 100 caps between them, in addition to their accomplishments at club level , the two players are already heroes to countless sports fans. As for the women“My mum is the strongest woman I know,” Daly tells British.
This commitment to diversity and determination to succeed in a male-dominated sport is why Pandora – newly announced as the official jewellery sponsor of the women’s Euros 2022 – tapped the athletes for a new eight month campaign, which aims to encourage women and young girls to achieve their dreams. The invitation “means a lot”, says Daly. “Pandora has always been my favourite jewellery brand,” she says. “I really love how sentimental each piece can be.
Daly too admits to being daunted by her move to the States for her career aged just 19. “I had to leave all of my family behind and move a million miles away for something that was seen as a risk, but it turned out to be the greatest decision I ever made,” she says.
