David Mundee Enterprise head coach Ben Blackmon confirmed to the Dothan Eagle Wednesday that he will be required to sit out Friday’s game at Opelika after an AHSAA rules violation.
Blackmon said he and an assistant coach will have to sit out the game per an AHSAA mandate following an investigation into the rule violation. The suspension is for one game only, said Blackmon. He also said the one-time violation did not result in any forfeits and said the school will pay a fine for the violation.
“Basically, we violated a rule and I have accepted the responsibility as the head coach of the program and I will be sitting out Friday night, serving a suspension,” Blackmon said. “There are no forfeits. It doesn’t affect the contests.”John Turner, an assistant coach for Enterprise, will take over the head coaching duties in Blackmon’s absence for Friday’s key Class 7A, Region 2 game at Opelika.
