Who will take the checkered flag at the 2.66-mile superspeedway? Let’s take a look at the drivers to watch.
For the first time in years, the Boll Weevils will be playing in the ACCC Baseball Tournament. The Weevils will face Coastal Alabama-North in the opening game of the tournament Thursday morning at 10. The Boll Weevils are the fourth seed in the tournament.
This year the Boll Weevils finished with an overall record of 21-24, but were 17-15 in the conference. Frichter sees this as a start of good things to come. One player that is certainly on track for the Boll Weevils is freshman Jabe Boroff. He leads his team in what Frichter calls the triple crown. He leads his team and the state in batting average at .445. His 49 RBIs are first on the team and second in the state. And his eight home runs are third in the state. Those numbers are expected to earn him consideration for Player of the Year.
Frichter said another big plus for the Boll Weevils is the addition of assistant coach Cameron Williams. A former player for the Boll Weevils, Frichter said Williams brings a lot of energy and knowledge to the team.
