See which Enterprise teachers were honored at the Enterprise City Council meeting this week.
EMILY GLASSCOCK, CITY OF ENTERPRISE A former educator himself, Mayor William E. Cooper recognized two Enterprise City School teachers for making the “Sweet 16” finals of the Alabama Teacher of the Year award.
“Teachers like Ms. Grimes and Ms. Baxter are fine examples of top educators and their dedication to the teaching profession inspires others,” Cooper said. “Educators are essential to inspiring our youth to reach their full potential.” People are also reading… Grimes, a physical education teacher at Brookwood Elementary, is the District 1 Elementary Teacher of the Year. She is a 1998 graduate of Troy University, and began her teaching career at Daleville High School, where she taught and coached until 2005. From there, she served as a physical education teacher at Harrand Creek until 2022 when she went to Brookwood.
