The Environment Agency received 1,379 complaints from residents in March
A smell affecting the lives of Fleetwood residents could be over by mid-May, after environmental bosses identified a breach.
Over the last few weeks, the 'bin waste' odour has reduced, as well as a "slight reduction" in the "intensity of landfill gas odour on various days." However, the EA state this is "still not acceptable and is impacting the community." In the meantime, EA will conduct regular visits and check on progress being made. Residents may notice more badged vehicles and drones in the area as they ensure Transwaste are making progress on mitigating odour impact.
