More than 100mm of rain is expected in some parts of the UK, the Met Office has said
A flood alert has been issued in areas around Frodsham as Storm Bert continues to batter the country.
Several weather warnings are in place, including two rare amber alerts, as the Met Office has issued concerns about travel disruption, power cuts and hazards presented by icy surfaces, especially in rural areas.Snow is forecast as far south as the Welsh valleys, but the heaviest will be later in the morning across Cumbria and Lancashire. Elsewhere, the heaviest of the rain is expected across the Isle of Man, Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders.
"Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible, property flooding is not expected. Flooding is possible from 5:00 PM on 22/11/2024 and will affect locations near the River Gowy.
