The former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been linked with a move to RB Leipzig following Marco Rose's struggles
Erik ten Hag is reportedly being considered for a role alongside Jurgen Klopp at RB Leipzig - a move that could potentially disrupt Manchester United's pursuit of German international David Raum.
According to The Mirror, if appointed, the Dutchman would likely demand significant control over transfers, making it unlikely he'd allow a key player to join his former club. Despite their recent victory against Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Cup midweek, breaking a five-game winless streak in the Bundesliga and Champions League, Tuesday night's match against Aston Villa is seen as crucial for Rose.
His fitness issues posed a significant challenge for Ten Hag, a problem now faced by Amorim. Tyrell Malacia has recently returned to the squad after a 12-month absence, which meant that Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui had to step in. Raum kick-started his career with lower league side Greuther Furth before moving on to Hoffenheim and eventually signing for Leipzig in a £25million move in summer 2022, where he still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract. If Ten Hag were to replace Rose, it would mean United recouping a significant portion of the £10million compensation package they paid when they sacked the Dutchman in October.
