CARLO ESPINOSA of La Concepcion College-Bulacan won by referee-stopped-contest over Ridge Aqui Burgos of the University of Perpetual Help with only five seconds left in the first round to bag gold in the Air Force men’s lightweight division in the Philippine Reserve Officers Training Corps Games Luzon/NCR leg Thursday at the Tagaytay Combat Sports Center.
“I expect stronger opponents, especially the Cebuanos, and fighters from other parts of the Visayas and Mindanao, in the coming finals,” added Espinosa, referring to the event conceptualized by Sen. Francis Tolentino in collaboration with the Department of National Defense, Commission on Higher Education, and Philippine Sports Commission.
