Scene setting: The brand returned to the Conservatorio di Milano, where last season its open air courtyard was bathed in light, with Etro-branded hot air balloons at its centre. Things took a more midnight turn for autumn, as guests populated the corridors of the courtyard, which had been swathed in darkness, black fabric and dark carpet.
The collection was emphatically Etro, featuring a roster of romantic, bohemian looks from paisley print peasant dresses to embroidered and tasseled denim, fringed picnic blanket coats to intarsia knit cardigans, paired with wide brimmed hats, chunky waist belts and knee high boots. There was also a selection of extravagant tailoring, featuring tuxedo jackets in shimmering turquoise velvet and tartan.
