EU parliamentary group leader Manfred Weber urged Brussels to agree to an 'ambitious' budget to invest in the future of the bloc rather than copy David Cameron to 'please populists'.
Addressing colleagues, Mr Weber said:"David Cameron, in the last discussion on the MFF, pleaded out for just one percent – one percent.He continued:"Colleagues, we have seen with the example of Brexit that if we give in to the populists, this will strengthen these populists and not weaken them.
