Bi-annual clock changes in the EU are set to become a thing of the past, after the European Parliament voted to scrap the custom.
People dreading long evenings and short days in the winter have something to look forward to, with the EU voting to scrap seasonal clock changes.
Depending on what the Republic of Ireland chooses, the island of Ireland could find itself in a quirky scenario where it has two time zones. In Poland and Finland, 95% of people wanted a continuous time throughout the year, while fewer than half of people from Greece, Cyprus and Malta wanted to abolish the current system.
Marita Ulvskog, the Swedish MEP driving the change in law, said: ‘We are listening to the demand of EU citizens who feel that this bi-annual change of time damages their health.
