Carrick Rangers boss looking forward to watching a major tournament on home soil
Carrick Rangers boss Stuart King welcomed the news that Euro 2028 is heading for Northern Ireland, but added he hoped the Irish League would see some benefit from it.
King, who is an avid Northern Ireland fan, has travelled to a number of international tournaments down the years and is relishing having a major competition on his own doorstep. Casement Park is set to be redeveloped to host the games here and King is hoping that kickstarts the release of much-needed funds allowing clubs in the Irish League to redevelop their facilities."I go to all the tournaments with my dad he's a big Northern Ireland fan too," he said."If I get the tickets I'll be going to as many games as I can whether it's on the mainland, down south or here."We want our stadiums to be better.
"The more money that gets invested in football clubs the better it will be for the whole standard in the league. "Everyone knows I'm a massive Northern Ireland and Irish League fan, so whatever can be given to clubs to help them to improve evenly, as they can't give a lot to one club and far less to others, I'm all for it."
